Wellbeing Workshop
March 26, 2020
UK public sector
The issue: The Keil Centre’s Wellbeing Team worked with a large team in the UK public sector who was undergoing a period of organisational change. The Management Team and HR Business Partner were interested in developing the skills of their people across a number of areas, one of which was wellbeing & resilience. They approached The Keil Centre due to our reputation for delivering high-quality content.
The approach: We worked together to define the content for a half-day resilience training course that would be open to all teams. The workshop aimed to increase participants’:
- understanding of the links between wellbeing, resilience, stress and mental health at work
- awareness of personal and work-related factors that affect their own wellbeing and resilience
- awareness of how they react to those pressures – at a cognitive, emotional and behavioural level
- ability to use a range of practical techniques to improve personal resilience and coping
- confidence in their ability to take a greater degree of control of their own reactions to pressure
The outcome: The training courses were well attended. Results of the follow-up survey show that participants experienced benefits in:
- feeling calmer
- feeling more confident and positive
- their ability to channel energy more productively
- their ability to cope with pressure and/ or uncertainty
- managing work demands
- management of work/life balance
