Global rollout of Zero Harm Behaviours sees strong engagement and lasting impact
Ingevity’s global adoption of the Zero Harm Behaviours framework—developed with The Keil Centre—continues to gain momentum, thanks to the dedication of its trained Ambassadors.
Following successful implementation at the Warrington site, The Keil Centre supported Ambassador training across Ingevity’s U.S. and China locations. These carefully selected Ambassadors now lead interactive workshops to assess site safety culture, uncovering strengths and opportunities that inform targeted action plans.
“The Zero Harm Behaviors show our employees what ‘excellence’ looks like with respect to safety behaviors, providing an effective way to enhance safety culture. Practicing this program will help us take our safety performance to a new level."
Alan Niu, SHE Manager, Ingevity, Changshu, China
Ambassadors have gone beyond assessment, launching and participating in working groups that address real operational needs. Their efforts—carried out alongside their regular roles—reflect a deep sense of ownership and pride, helping embed Zero Harm into everyday practice.
“From the outset, the ambassadors have fully embraced the culture change initiative, demonstrating enthusiasm, commitment, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact across their sites.”
Gary Rorke, Programme Lead, Ingevity
This Ambassador-led model, shaped by The Keil Centre, is proving that culture change doesn’t have to come from the top— it can be built from within—powered by people who care deeply about making their workplaces safer, stronger, and more connected.
“The Zero Harm Behavior methodology provides the structured approach necessary to drive foundational changes of our safety culture. The flexibility within the ZHB structure allows our sites to customize the process, utilizing employee input to determine areas of focus required to drive continuous improvement of our safety systems. Behavioral changes are often a challenge, even in the most open and progressive work environment, but change is necessary to not only drive improvement, but to sustain those gains into the future.”
Glenn Merrill, SHE Manager, Ingevity, Charleston, South Carolina
