Christine Aickin

OHS & Ergonomics Specialist

Based in Sydney, Australia

Christine Aickin has spent the last thirty-one years in technical, research and management occupational health and safety roles in both the public and private sector. She began her working life as a physiotherapist and then completed a Masters of Public Health specialising in occupational health and ergonomics.

She has held occupational health and safety management roles with BOC Gases Australia Limited and Westpac Banking Corporation and a technical/research role with the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission.

For the last twenty years she has been in private occupational health and safety consulting specialising in both ergonomics and occupational health and safety management systems. She has worked in banking, food manufacturing, mining, telecommunications, utilities, manufacturing and government at the local, state and federal levels. She is as interested in the “how” as much as the “what” of consulting. This experience has let her to an interest in expert opinion work.

She is a fellow and past President of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia, an International Ergonomics Association Council member, a past Chair of the Australian Safety and Health Professionals Association and a certified/chartered professional member of both the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia and the Safety Institute of Australia.
