A comprehensive approach to managing human factors is an integral part of achieving successful organisational, and health and safety performance. The approach requires consideration of the depth of different human factors topic areas, whilst recognising the breadth of coverage and the need to approach the subject from a holistic but integrated perspective. A strategic framework will help an organisation to achieve this level of coverage whilst enabling the human factors effort to achieve the intended outcome. The Keil Centre provides bespoke support in developing human factors strategy. The start of this journey may require awareness training within the organisation, development as a ‘human factors intelligent customer’ or measurement of the organisation in terms of its human factors.
